VISA AND CANADIAN IMMIGRATION:

Basic Requirements
All international travellers must carry acceptable identification and a valid visa (if necessary) when entering Canada. A passport is recommended because it is the only standard accepted travel and identification document for the purpose of international travel.

Most travelers need a visa OR an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) to travel to Canada – not both. Some people may only need their valid passport. You can find out what documents you need here: www.cic.gc.ca/english/visit/visas.asp
