We encourage you be mindful of the ways in which you travel around the city by walking, biking, using public transportation, or carpooling when possible.
Union Pearson Express
The quickest way to leave Pearson International Airport (YYZ) is using the UP Express. UP Express departs from both Union Station and Toronto Pearson International Airport every 15 minutes. Leaving the airport follow the “train to city” signs and use the automated machine to purchase your ticket. Tickets from Pearson to Union station cost around 13 dollars for a one-way adult ticket and can also be purchased online at UP Express.
Taxies and ride sharing services are also available at the airport and throughout the city.
Toronto Transit Commission
Easy to navigate subways, buses, and streetcars are the recommended way to travel throughout the city. When using the TTC a single fare will take you anywhere in the city on a one way trip. You can freely transfer between subways, streetcars and buses, but make sure you obtain a transfer when and where you pay your fare. On buses and streetcars, exact change is required.
On foot or by bike
Toronto is a big city, but its neighbourhoods are relatively easy to explore on foot. If you’d prefer to explore Toronto by bike, the city offers a bike-share program, Bike Share Toronto. With nearly 3,000 bikes and almost 300 stations, it’s easy to find a bike and go. A day pass costs $7, with the first 30 minutes of every ride included.
GO Transit is Ontario’s inter-regional bus and train service. It links Toronto with outlying areas of the Greater Toronto and beyond. GO Trains and buses depart from Toronto’s Union Station at regular intervals throughout the day.
